Labor Day sort of marks the end of summer....the end of home grown fresh tomatoes!
Enjoying some of the last of summers bounty, It seemed fitting to honor them in a special way...a painting of just tomatoes! As the weather turns cooler and the days shorter, I will look back and smile...remembering a yummy fresh tomato sandwich!
This is a small still life 8x6 oil on panel. I enjoyed painting this with warm and cool reds. The shadows also reflect warm and cool hues. Simple yet a strong statement...no need to over power the Tomato!
